Jan Hilbrands, RN, BSN

Jan is our Practice Manager. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Calvin College in 1987. She was employed by Blodgett Memorial Medical Center from 1987-1997. Jan was the Assistant Director of ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastics and Oral surgery for 8 years and received her CNOR in 1990. It was at this time she worked directly with Dr. Droste and "admired the work he did and appreciated the respectful manner in which he treated patients and families." She joined Pediatric Ophthalmology in 1997 in her current capacity. Jan is responsible for the day to day functions of the practice which include personnel management, surgery scheduling, and managing Dr. Droste's demanding schedule. She has served as president of Creston Christian School Board and remains active on various committees for the Grand Rapids Christian School Association. Aditionally, she has traveled to Honduras, Central America on numerous surgical trips with The Luke Society, is active in her church, and enjoys coaching and playing softball, which she did professionally for several years for the Lake Ontario Lady Hornets where she had a career batting average of .600

Jan and her husband, Marty, live in Grand Rapids Township, and are the parents of five daughters who are active in basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball.
